In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Bell Family. Afton's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Afton Kay Bell.

Afton Kay Bell was born on February 14, 1984, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Kimberly Bell and Steven Phillips. She was called home to take her eternal rest on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 6:01 a.m. in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She attended school in Roland, Oklahoma and graduated from Fayetteville High School with the Class of 2002.
In school she played Basketball and ran Track. She received a Nursing Degree from Fayetteville Tech School.
Afton, who was known mostly by “Kay” or “Bootsie” attended First Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma. She loved her children and her family. She loved sports, especially football, basketball and track. She loved to cook, as well as braid hair. Afton found joy in cracking jokes and anything else that could make others laugh. Most of all, she loved Valentine’s Day (her birthday) and the significance of what it meant, “Love!”
She was proceeded in death by her paternal grandmother: Bernice Releford (aka Bootsie) and her biological dad: Jimmy Don Releford.
Afton is survived by her two (2) sons: Kah’Marrien Bell, Kah’Vanti Bell-Phillips of Mansfield, Texas. Two (2) daughters: Kiayah Phillips also of Mansfield, Texas and London Willis of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mother: Kimberly Bell of Arlington, Texas and her dad: Steven Phillips of Mansfield, Texas. Brothers: Kyrone Walls of Arlington, Texas; Jhane Phillips of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Kiara Phillips also of Arlington, Texas. Half-brothers: JaVonte Jordan and Quintavious Releford both of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Half-sisters: Arlisha Carter of Arlington, Texas and Shumeka Releford of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Walk through visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday December 3, 2025; 9:00am to 6:00pm (family hour 5-6pm) Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be Thursday December 4, 2025; 11:00am Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church 202 S. Roland Rd., Roland, Oklahoma 74954.
Burial and final resting place: Shady Grove Cemetery 111945 S. 4780 Road in Roland, Oklahoma 74954.
