In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Coleman family. Betty’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Betty Coleman.

Betty Ree Coleman, 89, departed this life into eternity on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Conway Regional Hospital. Betty was born in Haywood County, Tennessee on March 26, 1931 to the union of James Willett and Jennie Mae Bolds Willett. She married Bennie Coleman in Decatur, Illinois. She lived her life as a caregiver and a dedicated housewife. She was a great cook for family, friends, and anyone who was in need.


Betty accepted Christ at a very early age. During her lifetime, she served on the Mother's Board at Light of the World Church and Antioch Missionary Baptist Church until she moved to Arkansas and her health failed.


Betty was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jennie Willett; husband, Bennie Coleman; brothers, Decatur Willett, Shepherd Willett, Ellis Rivers, J.W. "Bunk" Willett, Aaron Willett, Jim Wilson, and James Larry Willett; sister, Annie Mae Willett, Mary Ann Wilson Finley, and Dorothy Hayes.


Betty leaves not to mourn but to cherish in loving memory, daughters, Betty Ann (Terry) Templeton of Morrilton, Arkansas, Corine Stripling of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shirley (Calvin) Collins of St. Louis, Missouri; sons, L.C. Coleman of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bennie (Linda) Coleman of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Alvis (Dell) Willett of Memphis, Tennessee; sisters, Louise Barksdale, Viney Williams, and Michelle Willett all of Memphis, Tennessee; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.


Walk through visitation will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held, Friday, November 27, 2020, 2:00pm at Rose of Sharon Cemetery, Blackwell, Arkansas.
