Carolyn Ann Walker, of Spiro, Oklahoma, was born on July 24, 1957, in Spiro to Arzoria Steele and Orelious Watson, both of whom preceded her in death. She passed from this life surrounded by the love of those who knew her best, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, strength, humor, and unwavering love for her family. Carolyn was a faithful and dedicated employee of First National Bank of Fort Smith, where she worked for an extraordinary 49 years. Her commitment, reliability, and quiet strength were evident to all who had the privilege of working beside her. She was a woman who found joy in life’s simple blessings—cooking for her family, enjoying trips to the casino, watching cherished shows like The Andy Griffith Show and Anne of Green Gables, celebrating Christmas mornings filled with wonder, and making birthdays feel special no matter the circumstances. Though life did not always offer abundance in material things, Carolyn made sure her daughter always felt rich in love, care, and security. At a young age, Carolyn was baptized at Macedonia Church of God, and her faith remained a quiet foundation throughout her life. She was known for her sharp wit, quick humor, and honest spirit. Carolyn did not tolerate foolishness, but beneath her strong exterior was a deeply loving heart that showed itself in quiet sacrifices, shared meals, laughter, and steadfast protection of those she loved most. More than any title she held, Carolyn was most proud of being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Malori Minton, and husband, Mark, along with her beloved grandson, Mason, who brought immeasurable light and joy to her life. Becoming “NeNe” was one of her greatest treasures, and her love for Mason was evident in every conversation and every smile. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Campanella Steele and wife Helen Steele; Charlie Steele and wife Deloris Steele; Joanna Bunch and husband Donald Bunch; and half-brother Michael Walker. She was preceded in death by her brother, Orelious Steele. Carolyn cherished her extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones, holding each close in her heart. To know Carolyn was to know strength, loyalty, humor, and fierce love. She was a wonderful cook, a protective mother, a proud grandmother, and a woman who gave freely even when she had little. Her daughter remembers her not only as a mother, but as a best friend—the one who taught her right from wrong, how to carry herself with dignity, and what unconditional love truly means. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and has been welcomed home in peace, wrapped in her mother’s loving arms. Carolyn Ann Walker will be remembered always, missed beyond words, and loved forever.

I love you more than words can ever express. I’ve gone to pick up the phone to call you so many times since yesterday. It doesn’t seem real, yet I know it is. Tell granny I said hi and I hope you are happy with Jesus. I love you my beautiful mama.
