In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Releford family. Jimmy's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Jimmy Releford.

Jimmy Don Releford (Jim) was born on April 27, 1956 to the late Verna Bernice Releford and the late Roy Stanley Collier, Jr. Jim was the next to the last child of Bernice. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Joe Releford, and a sister, Verna Vernice Castleberry.

Jim grew up in Shady Grove, Oklahoma and attended Roland Public Schools. He was an outstanding football player, and he also took a liking to boxing. He gave life to Christ under the direction of the late Pastor Daniel Clayton.

Throughout the years of his life, Jim was a hard-working man and a jack of all trades. Whether it be painting, house construction, and/or working on cars, he could do it all. Known by so many and deeply loved by his family, who will forever share the memory of Jim yelling, “Who you wit” whenever he came around and at every family function.

Jim leaves to cherish his memories a son, Quintavious Releford of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three daughters, Afton Bell of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Arlisha Carter of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Shumeika Releford of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three brothers, Stanley (Sharron) Releford of Roland, Oklahoma, Tracy Collier of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Donald Collier of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five sisters, Brenda Benton of Arlington, Texas, Carolyn (Stanley) Releford , Barbara Castleberry, Sherry Releford all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Darlene Releford of Roland, Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren, and a host of many relatives, many friends, and Trina Price, a very special friend.

Visitation will be Friday, June 7, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday June 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at New Covenant International Christian Center 4400 North N Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.

Committal service and final resting place will be held at Center Point Cemetery in Redland, Oklahoma.
